2009; in TV: Part One
[info]fairchilds wrote in [info]fandom_picspams
TV this year was memorable. 2009 introduced one of the most exciting and fun shows ever to me---- of course I'm talking about Glee, and many more hilarious new comedies and unexpected surprises, like Misfits and The Vampire Diaries. Then there was the tremendous improvement of 90210---- but with the good comes with the bad. 2009 saw the separation with my longtime partner Gossip Girl, whom I'm currently in an on/off relationship with, as well as the slow descent of Merlin. But through the breakup I met new shows like Mad Men, which has been absolutely amazing. So here we go-- onward, to see my favorite things in TV this year.  (click on the banner)

The quote... )

It's from The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie, which is one of my favourite books, and it serves as a reminder to me to question every idea I encounter, and also that figuring out what kind of idea I am is the first thing to figure out--and as I'm constantly changing, it's going to be that way for a while.

I got it done at Ink Obsession in Kitchener, Ontario about five months ago, and it has healed just as clearly as it was the day I took that picture, shortly after getting it done.

Jem and the Holograms: Pilot Episode
[info]noblealice wrote in [info]fandom_picspams
So, a long, long time ago (1985-1988) there was an American cartoon show called JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS! And if She-Ra didn't exist, I would be tempted to call it the BEST CARTOON OF THE EIGHTIES! See, a bunch of toy companies had been making a bunch of tv-cartoons like GI JOE and TRANSFORMERS but these were lame and for boys and everyone knows that BOYS HAVE COOTIES. So OBVIOUSLY, they needed to make a female-driven show. Now, this was before Barbie went to space and stuff, so the only career option for girls in the 80's that was deemed ~glamorous~ enough was: ROCK STAR!!!!
